The Esplanade 1925 Lounge & Cocktail Bar, located in Zagreb’s Esplanade Hotel, is a popular meeting point for business people, people from public life, politicians, the world’s showbiz stars, but also local and foreign guests who enjoy the chic art deco interior and the professional service of nimble bartenders and talented cocktail masters.

Signature cocktails

The creative selection of cocktails is designed by Vjenceslav Madić ‘Master Kishoni’ – an experienced cocktail master and current F&B Director of the Esplanade Hotel, who gained his extensive experience at the world’s best bars, from Spain to Las Vegas. His original cocktails are prepared according to special recipes and techniques and with premium ingredients, and their appearance and flavours will surely delight you. Oleander, Esplanade Fizz, Orient Express, Club, or Prohibition Cup, are just some of the signature cocktails, served with toasted almonds or spicy nuts. There are also the ever-popular timeless classics, such as Negroni, Moscow Mule, Margarita, or Mojito. Next time you go out with friends, why not taste test some with a low percentage of alcohol, such as Megroni, Americano Lemonade, or Garden Spritzz which could become a favourite too. The Argentinian sparkling wine Chandon Garden is of the highest quality and comes served with cinnamon and orange peel, as well as aromatic rosemary with four ice cubes. Wake Me Up Martini is an excellent alcohol-free choice that reminds of the original version of the Espresso Martini, with ingredients that wake up the body. Instead of typical vodka, it contains Memento – aromatic water with several different flavours irresistibly reminiscent of the notes of nature, the forest, and pure freshness. This cocktail takes on a whole new dimension with its dose of refreshing Cold Brew Illy coffee, as well as aquafaba fine chickpea foam, which gives it a certain fullness.

Veuve Clicquot Solaire Hour

Fans of French bubbles are in for a treat this September, with a selection of premium Veuve Clicquot champagnes in a special collection – Solaire Hour. Brut, Rosé, La Grande Dame 2008, or the premium edition of Veuve Clicquot Vintage 2002 champagne, in its impressive magnum bottle on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of this prestigious champagne house, will not leave you indifferent. The iconic yellow label, behind which stands the bold name of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, since the day of establishment in 1772 until today, is one of the most recognisable in the world of champagnes, as well as a synonym for high quality craftsmanship, tradition, and constant setting of new trends, especially in presentation and design. Along the carefully selected offer of Veuve Clicquot champagnes, the Esplanade’s Chef Ana Grgić Tomić has designed a gourmet yellow-toned snack offer, which pairs smoothly with these champagnes, served individually or combined on a lovely tiered stand.

Crispy shrimps in kadaif with orange aioli and baby salad, black sesame tacos with smoked salmon mousse and trout roe, zucchini and lemon croquette, prosciutto with melon and honey, orange velvet cake with mascarpone, vanilla and caramelised pear, choux with hazelnuts and milk chocolate, raspberry, citrus fruit and elderberry candies, and sticks with fresh seasonal fruit combined with premium Veuve Clicquot champagne, will elevate your socialising to a higher level. Besides cocktails and champagnes, the Esplanade Bar offers much more, and something for everyone – from a selection of finest spirits, premium local and foreign gin, wine and sparkling wine by the glass, craft beer, freshly squeezed juices, as well as premium Illy coffee, which is from this summer also available as Cold Brew Illy coffee. There is also selection of fine Ronnefeldt teas, which are served with homemade shortbread cookies, lemon, and honey. At the Esplanade Bar, you will certainly not go hungry with the famously delicious Club sandwich, burger with homemade fries, tataki tuna, croissant sandwich with salmon, Caesar salad, roasted asparagus and cow’s curd salad, dried tomato and smoked shrimp croquettes, Esplanade štrukli (available also in gluten free version), or steak tartare, while also not forgetting the Esplanade’s collection of beloved desserts, which change according to the season.

Joie de vivre at its best – every day until 2 am

The Esplanade 1925 Lounge & Cocktail bar is the perfect destination for a day out, and guarantees a good night out with friends. In addition to its great atmosphere and interior modelled after world-famous bars, the Esplanade bar offers a unique view of the city and the special experience of the Oleander Terrace in the summer months. The Esplanade Bar is open every day from 8:30 am until 02:00 am. Food is served from 12:00 to 00:30. Orient Express afternoon tea is available from 12:30 to 6:30 pm (unless a similar promotional offer is served at the same time).
