In January, fans of štrukli will be in for a treat with this delicacy, which has over the years acquired the status of the hotel’s speciality and become synonymous with the supreme quality of the Esplanade’s cuisine. Delicious, oven-crisped and tempting štrukli will be available at a special offer of 16 € for two portions (one portion contains two pieces of oven-crisped štrukli). Therefore, plan your January get-togethers in the ambience of Le Bistro with a loved one or your friends, and share this gourmet experience.
Esplanade štrukli are handmade from just a few fresh ingredients according to the same half-a-century old, tried and tested recipe, which is why they are especially valued. The dough is kneaded and stretched across the entire table until it becomes paper-thin. It is then filled with fresh cheese, and the štrukli are shaped with a thin porcelain plate, to then be steamed, carefully placed in a ceramic dish, topped with fine cream, and crisped in the oven until golden brown. Guests consume them as an appetizer, main course, with a little salt, or as a dessert with sugar. This traditional speciality from the Croatian Zagorje region, created in a hilly landscape of picturesque pastures and fields, earned its undisputed place in the culinary selection of the Esplanade Hotel from the very beginning. Štrukli were first prepared at the Esplanade Hotel back in 1951, and it all started with the idea of offering visitors and international guests at gala festivities something appealing, authentic, and taste-tested, from different Croatian regions. The then-chefs recognised the value of national dishes as the most enticing invitation for guests who like to enjoy local delicacies, and štrukli have ever since become a staple classic of each of the Esplanade’s menus. Making the journey from vernacular cuisine to elite restaurants, this delicious dish has reached the very top of the offer thanks to the fact that it is handmade, its quality, fresh ingredients, and place within local tradition. The Esplanade’s štrukli were tasted by many famous guests, including Tina Turner, Robbie Williams, Sting, U2, King Charles, and many other distinguished guests during their stay in Zagreb.

Each portion contains two pieces of štrukli. The regular price of one portion is 11.5 €. The promotion does not apply to the purchase of frozen or take-out štrukli.
